🐾 The Origin Story of Andy Davies

More than thirty years ago, on a wind battered coast near the bottom of New Zealand's South Island, Andy Davies stopped his old ute because something was moving in the ditch. It was a dog thin to the bone, soaked, one ear torn, clearly dumped and left to die. Andy named her Tess.

He wrapped her in his own jacket and sat with her through the night, too frightened to be left alone. He thought he was helping just one dog.

But that single act of kindness changed everything.

Within weeks, people began arriving at his gate abandoned pups, old working dogs no longer wanted, strays found starving by the roadside. Andy never turned a single one away. He spent his savings and his pension on food, medicine, and blankets.

His quiet farmhouse slowly became a safe haven.

What began as one rescue became a lifelong mission. But Andy is older now, his strength and his savings running out while the dogs keep coming, and the man who never once said no is running out of ways to keep saying yes.
